Really?
BOLD HOPE 26 in May? Only 6 months after BOLD HOPE 25?

Exactly!
Because BOLD HOPE 25 was that powerful.
We can’t wait for it. We can’t wait to experience it. Together with you and all the friends you will bring along. We can’t wait to Matthew 6:10b to become true. “Your kingdom come, your will be done …

… AS IN HEAVEN, …

… where else?, …

… SO ON EARTH.

For that to happen, four very specific steps are needed.

Thursday Evening (Step 1)

The first thing said about Jesus after his baptism and temptation is in Matthew 4:17. ”From that time on Jesus began to preach. ‘Turn away from your sins!’”. Reason enough for us to do exactly the same. What does Jesus mean when he talks about the Kingdom of God (מַלְכוּת הָאֱלֹהִים, βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ)? Which role does the Messiah, prophesied for centuries, play in establishing it? And there will be an open microphone. And a question: ”In which areas have you tolerated so far, that God’s will is not done on earth as it is in heaven?”.

Originally we wanted to pray through the whole night. But then we decided to ask our partner churches in New York, Paraguay, San Francisco, Sydney, Kuala Lumpur, Pakistan, Tansania etc. to take over for an hour. You can of course join in, Either in the hall or online from wherever you stay.

Friday Morning and Friday Afternoon

Step 2 leads us from the big, big picture right to our daily challenges:
What is my role today, on the Monday after BOLD HOPE 26 and the whole time until BOLD HOPE 27 to see ”AS IN HEAVEN SO ON EARTH” become reality?
Unlike God I am neither almighty nor omnipresent. Shouldn’t there be priorities for me? Especially if I already have a family. If I already make disciples and lead churches? How can I know what are the next things God wants me to do?

3 things we can already promise:

  1. There will be a lot of prayer and we will pray using a lot of different styles.
  2. There will be workshops to think through different aspects of the Kingdom of God and experiment with them.
  3. There will be Interest Groups, chances to bring people together who feel called to similar people groups, have gifts in specific areas, or with ideas for interesting projects to support each other and cooperate throughout the year.

Friday Evening, Step 3, digs deep into Matthew 5-7. The Lord’s Prayer is being taught by Jesus in a specific context. Not all people are blessed. Not al people are the salt and the light oft he world. Some houses are built on sand. If you pray that it is on earth as it is in heaven, we should take the biblical context serious.

That means:
Three chapters oft he Bible read out loud, the challenge to change your attitude, FREEDOM

Just to make sure everybody is aware o fit, the worship in every session will be absolutely awesome. Never trust musicians except they also praise the King of Kings on a tram.

Saturday Morning

After so much prayer and cleaning up of lives, let’s talk about our part in bringing heaven to earth. Jesus made disciples and we have no choice but following his example. And, of course, we want to. Discipleship is so beautiful.

Two basic biblical facts

  1. The Gospel according to Luke describes how Jesus chooses 12 disciples and how he sends them out. That he treats three of them differently. And that a bit later he sends 72 disciples out. Like sheep among wolves.
  2. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. (2 Timothy 2:2)

That can’t stay theory. We will practise. To ask the typical Jesus question “What do you want me to do for you?”. Or how to explain what “sin” is without using any word only known to people who read the Bible all the time.  But most importantly we will go to Koblenz and Neuwied on Saturday Afternoon. You join one of the teams, probably just to observe but you can also try for the first time to talk with complete strangers about Jesus. Probably there will be many questions about why God does what he does. Or you will practically help someone. Or heal. In a park. From door to door. In a hospital. On the bus or on a regional train.

Saturday Evening

We have not decided in which city we will do it but what we will do we are certain about. Right in the center of town. Worship, testimonies, the Word of God, signs and miracles. Probably baptisms? Most importantly, it has to be public and observable for everybody.

As you have realized already, everything on Saturday is an introduction to step 4 and leads us right into Sunday Morning.

After Jesus sent out the 72, 4000, even 5000 people came to see him. We will rent the UNIKAT Hall. Together with our awesome hosts from the GlaubensForum Dierdorf, we will celebrate. The goodness of our God. The reality of His kingdom. Plus the people who we got to know on Saturday. Plus.
Everything we have practised in the five sessions before, just just right there. 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish, right? Most likely with some explanation about 1 Chronicles 29:11–13, “Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor.” And we will talk about what God wants to do next. From Dierdorf to Cyprus to …

No matter how marvelous BOLD HOPE 26 will have been, with God’s blessing pushing us forward, we will go wherever the Holy Spirit will blow us to see “Your kingdom come, your will be done AS IN HEAVEN SO ON EARTH having 12 fantastic months ahead.

For all church planters without regular income, a simple rule applies: Tell us how much you can pay. Money will never be the reason for you not to come.

That means for everyone else: How many euros would you like to support these friends with?

On Friday afternoon there will be many and very different workshops. The exact list will be published in April.

It's enough to add children for one parent.
